Europe: Beauty in Every Corner. Unit II - Cyprus, Passing Time

In Unit II – Cyprus, Passing Time, photographer Marios PITTAS now turns his attention to the sleepy island of Cyprus. The exhibition displays a study of how locals and visitors alike ‘pass time’ and how the ideology and customisation of ‘time-passing’ has shaped their lives and environment.
The images are contrasting and attempt to capture every emotion and details that the passing of time has left on the subject matters.
Europe: Beauty in Every Corner aims to document a specific facet of each of the European state, Cyprus being one of the newest members to the European Union. Rather than focusing on the most obvious and common monuments and aspects of the European states, this series of exhibitions records the more subtle aspects of Europe.

In Unit I - Greece, Tranquility (2005), Pittas decomposed religion, culture, and way-of-life into twenty-five simple black and white pictorials that each capture a visual element of Greece for the viewer to examine.
